Steven Lowell Hunt
Steven L. Hunt, age 63, of Ithaca, died suddenly, in an automobile accident, on February 4, 2019.
Steve was born April 22, 1955 in Fremont, Michigan, the son of Leslie G. and Ila L. (Bunnell) Hunt. Steve was a huge MICHIGAN STATE fan. He loved the game of baseball and the Detroit Tigers. For many years he was an umpire for local softball games and for the youth baseball program in St. Louis. Steve loved all of his nieces and nephews.
For the last several years, Steve had been a devoted caregiver for his parents, and then caring for his mother after the death of his father, until her death two years ago. He also loved their cats.
Steve is survived by his brothers and sisters, Robert and friend Loretta of Burton, Dale and Allyson of Albion, Leslie (Doc) and Janie of St. Louis, Earl and Teresa of St. Louis, Ruth and Russel Halstead of St. Louis, Susan and James Ebright of Ithaca, Patricia and Larry Woodbury of DeWitt, and Evelyn and Michael O’Brien of Ludington; and many nieces and nephews. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Ila Hunt, and his brother, Ron.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 8, at the Ithaca Baptist Church, with Pastor Kelly Carlson officiating. Interment will follow in North Star Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, at the church, from 9 a.m. until the start of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ithaca Baptist Church.

Gus and I were so sad to hear of your brother Steve’s death. Coming from large families ourselves, we appreciate how much each sibling brings to the family unit and what it must mean to lose one. Our prayers are with all of you as you adjust to life without Steve. With love, Gus and Cathy
I am so sorry to hear about Steve, He always stopped and would say Hi when he would see me out front sitting on my swing. I will miss him, prayers for the whole family.
